Special Events:

MONDAY 4/13: 2:30pm(workshops), 7:30pm(concert)
Washington College Jazz Workshops and Concert - held at the Mainstay
Honored to be a part of this. Best way to tell you about it is to share the description from the Mainstay website:
The Mainstay and the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust have sponsored jazz workshops for Washington College and Kent County High School students for several years. Under the leadership of Joe McCarthy, the Grammy winning drummer (with Afro Bop Alliance), lecturer and instructor in jazz at Washington College, this year’s Washington College jazz workshops will take place on the Mainstay stage. The workshops will start at 2:30 in the afternoon and feature jazz luminaries such as Sue Matthews, vocals, Joe Holt, piano, Joe McCarthy, drums, Pete BarenBregge, reeds, Max Murray, bass and Donato Soviero, guitar working with the Washington College students. The public is invited to come to the Mainstay and be the audience for these jazz performance workshops. Following a full afternoon of workshops, the instructors and students will reconvene for a concert at 7:30 Monday evening. The concert will feature the Washington College Jazz Ensemble, an ensemble of the professionals who were the workshop instructors and a combined group. Admission for the entire day and evening is free. Attend both or just the afternoon or evening sessions. Dinner will be on your own.

THUSRDAY 5/28: 7pm

Side Car Dog Show Benefit concert, Garfield Center for the Arts, Chestertown, MD
To somewhat answer the question of what has Joe gotten himself in to now? From the Garfield website:
"In 2008 Van Albert set off with his baseball-themed motorcycle sidecar, a handful of dog songs, and his black lab Bo on a journey to make a difference. 40,000 miles and 18 months later the effort ended with the passing of Van’s companion animal due to a long battle with a tick-borne disease. Now, seven years later, he’s ready to try again with Bo’s successor, a black Lab named Miss B. This show kicks off the Sidecar Dog Tour 2015 to promote the Get’ Em Fixed project. Where it will lead, no one knows – but with 2.4 million animals euthanized each year in this country’s animal care institutions, it’s worth another try."
Join us. It'll be fun.

Other events take place. Contact Joe for info on any performance not listed here.
